President’s Letter

The European Society for Trauma and Emergency Surgery is looking for a partner

ESTES provides critical information on trauma and acute care surgery to its members, to policy makers, and to the public. It is also a strong advocate of injury prevention, creating and producing programs and providing these programs to its members. The members of ESTES are the critical players in trauma and acute care surgery. They provide the care on which the survival of trauma and acute surgery patients depends.

In addition to individual members from more than 50 countries throughout the world, corporate members include distinguished national professional associations such as the Austrian, Belgian, Croatian, Czech, Dutch, French, German, Greek, Hungarian, Italian, Romanian, Serbian, Slovakian, Slovenian and Swiss Trauma Societies. ESTES works with its more than 7,000 members from 56 countries to insure that they are the best informed and the best prepared to provide medical care of unsurpassed quality in their communities.

ESTES would like to establish cooperation with one or more partners from industry. This working relationship would serve the interests of both parties, with the joint aim of optimizing patient care on the basis of research and postgraduate training.

The primary objective of this partnership is to advance research and teaching by surgeons who are involved in the main areas of interest of ESTES. A further objective is to promote cooperation and discussion between the Society and industry to further their common interests. The activities of the partnership are related, but not exclusively, to the participation of industry in the Society’s congresses, exhibitions and promotional services.

If this short description has aroused your interest in a partnership with ESTES, I would be very happy to discuss perspectives for mutually beneficial joint efforts.

Selman Uranues, M.D., F.A.C.S.
President
