19th European Congress of Trauma and Emergency Surgery

8. April 2016 ESTES Congress 2018 no comments

Dear Colleagues, dear Friends,

It is my honor and a privilege to welcome you to the 19th European Congress of Trauma and Emergency Surgery from May 6 – 8, 2018 in Valencia, Spain.

“Bringing the light” to trauma and emergency surgery is the leading theme of this congress, as the most significant reason to attend such an event lies in its scientific content and the idea to contribute both with your own experience as well as learn from that of the others.

The Local Scientific Committee, led by the Asociación Española de Cirujanos (AEC), but complemented by experts in the field from many other specialities and societies like Sociedad Española de Medicina de Urgencias y Emergencias (SEMES), Sociedad Española de Anestesia y Reanimación (SEDAR), Sociedad Española de Medicina Crítica y Unidades Coronarias (SEMICYUC), Sociedad Española de Cirugía Ortopédica y Traumatología (SECOT), together with the ESTES Executive Board and Section Chairs, have worked to bring to that congress an exceptional scientific content.

Several pre-congress courses will be organised, such as Advanced Trauma Life Support (ATLS), Definitive Surgical Trauma Care (DSTC), Definitive Anesthesia Trauma Care (DATC), Modular Ultrasound ESTES Course (MUSEC), European trauma Course (ETC), ESTES Emergency Surgery Course (ESC), Advanced Trauma Course for Nurses (ATCN) and Medical Response to Major Incidents (MRMI), among others.

Furthermore, European Board of Surgery Qualification Exams (EBSQ) in Emergency Surgery and Trauma Surgery will be organised along with the meeting.

Colleagues from all the 32 institutional ESTES members and many European and non-European countries will take part in over 80 sessions during 3 days: Instructional Lecture Courses, keynote sessions, mini-battles confronting specialities and strategies on a range of topics, guest symposia, interactive case presentations, free-paper and poster sessions will cover the broad spectrum of innovations and state of the art in Trauma and Emergency Surgery with special focus on high energy trauma management, trauma registries, complex hip and pelvic fractures, damage control radiology, resuscitative endovascular balloon occlusion of the aorta, laparoscopy and minimally invasive techniques in trauma and emergency surgery, new strategies in wound care, point of care ultrasound, acute elderly patients and intraabdominal infections.

And all this science will be addressed in the incomparable frame of Valencia, next to the Mediterranean Sea, Spain’s third largest city, that will offer you much more if you take time to dive into its fascinating culture, gastronomy as well as to enjoy its fabulous climate.

See you in Valencia
