DESCRIPTION:Welcome Note\n\n\nDear colleagues\, Dear friends\, \nIn 2025\, the 24th European Congress of Trauma and Emergency Surgery (ECTES) will be hosted in the city of Aachen/Germany\, the heart of Europe. In close distance to the Netherlands and Belgium you will be surrounded by an omnipresent European spirit. Aside being part of the UNESCO world cultural heritage\, the city is not only looking back on an impressive European history but also on an ongoing intensive contribution to international cooperation and exchange. In addition\, the worldwide renown RWTH Aachen University\, one of the German “Universities of Excellence”\, expands the academic horizon and is a trendsetter for innovative technologies and medical developments. \nOne of the greatest strengths of ESTES is its diversity\, gathering the expertise of surgeons\, nurses and researchers from the field of trauma and emergency surgery in one society. With this holistic approach\, ESTES is very well-positioned to generate knowledge and to develop new treatment standards to allow for the best quality of patient care in the future. This is also reflected by the motto of ECTES 2025: “united diversity – facing the future together”. \nThe diversity of our society can also be found in our exciting three-day program. Besides latest developments in patient care\, research and education\, ECTES 2025 will focus on following topics: \n·digital medicine\n·new technologies in diagnostics and therapy\n·sustainability\n·recruitment and retainment of medical staff \nThese issues are clearly key future topics in the field of trauma and emergency surgery. \nThere will be much room given for practical skill stations\, lunch symposia and courses to allow for an intensive interdisciplinary and professional exchange and discussion.
