The recent congress in Graz May 23-26, the first joint congress organised in collaboration between ETS and EATES, became a historical landmark for European Trauma- and Emergency Surgery: During this congress, the decision was made to merge these two societies into one and the European Society for Trauma and Emergency Surgery (ESTES) was founded on May 25, 2007.
