The European Society for Trauma and Emergency Surgery (ESTES) welcomes you! ESTES represents 26 National Trauma and Surgical Societies, with a combined membership of more than 10.000, as well as over 800 individual members.
The Society’s primary focus is to support surgeons in the fields of Trauma and Emergency Surgery so they may provide the highest quality care for their patients. This is achieved through the Society’s support of education, to continue advancing knowledge and skills in our fields and research, to guarantee the constant development of safer and better treatments for our patients.
As the voice and the official journal of ESTES, the European Journal of Trauma and Emergency Surgery, exemplifies the Society’s research and educational objectives in it ever improving “Review” and “Original” articles. By registering at the Society’s (www.estesonline.org) and the Journal’s (www.ejtes.springer.de) homepages you will be kept abreast of the latest news.
It is an immense privilege to serve as ESTES’s new President. Surgery is a lifelong learning experience. Treatments we consider standard care today will change in the future. The best way to assure that you always provide your patients with the best possible care is to stay active in the educational process. With that in mind, as the new ESTES President I invite you to be an active member of our rapidly growing Society. Please take full advantage of the many educational and research initiatives we support.
Finally, please join us in Basel at the next European Congress for Trauma and Emergency Surgery (13th ECTES in Basel 12th-15th, May 2012; www.estescongress2012.org).
