Developed by the American College of Surgeons Committee on Trauma, the Advanced Surgical Skills Exposures for Trauma (ASSET) Course is recognized as one of the most comprehensive and widely respected surgical skills training programs worldwide. Designed to enhance the capabilities of surgeons facing complex trauma scenarios, ASSET has been conducted in 32 countries, providing critical hands-on experience to thousands of professionals.

This intensive one-day course utilizes a cadaver dissection approach, offering a highly immersive and practical learning experience. With a low instructor-to-student ratio, participants receive personalized guidance and feedback, ensuring they develop the precision and confidence needed in high-stakes trauma situations. The curriculum covers over 35 essential life- and limb-saving surgical techniques, equipping surgeons with the critical knowledge and procedural skills required to effectively manage traumatic injuries to major anatomical regions, including the neck, chest, abdomen, pelvis, and extremities.

ASSET strongly emphasizes real-world applicability, utilizing scenario-based learning to simulate high-pressure environments that mimic actual trauma settings. By fostering a systematic and disciplined approach to surgical exposure and injury management, the course aims to improve decision-making, operative efficiency, and patient outcomes in civilian and military trauma care.

Surgeons participating in the ASSET course gain valuable experience in surgical exposures of vital vascular and visceral structures, ensuring they are well-prepared to provide optimal care in a wide range of trauma situations, from emergency departments to battlefield environments.

Feedback from this course has been universally tremendous, with numerous testimonials from previous students and instructors that the skills taught DO IN FACT SAVE LIVES.
