The course focuses on hospital-based management of paediatric trauma, emphasising clinical decision-making and effective coordination across the in-hospital trauma chain.

Location: Karolinska University Hospital, Solna, Sweden
Audience: Physicians and nurses involved in trauma care (ED, OR, ICU, surgery, anaesthesia, multidisciplinary trauma teams)
Focus: Early recognition of severe injury, prioritisation, clinical decision-making from ED through surgery and ICU, with emphasis on interdisciplinary     teamwork and differences in adult vs paediatric trauma care.
Format: Two full days of structured lectures and case-based panel discussions with international faculty.

Course fee:

  • Physicians and registered nurses: 10,000 SEK (≈ 900 EUR)
  • Residents (ST doctors) and nurses in specialist training: 5,000 SEK (≈ 450 EUR)
  • ESTES members receive a 10% discount on the course fee (proof of membership required)
  • Participants from low-income countries: no course fee

Travel and accommodation are to be covered by the participant.

The course fee includes:

  • Participation in the full two-day programme
  • Lunch on both course days
  • Dinner on day 1
